Buyit at Barnes & Noble or Amazon

Audience:Adult (18+)
Genre:Contemporary Romance

If I were to write this review in only three words, it would be this: Read. It. Now! In Ride Hard, Laura Kaye brings to life the sexy world of the inked up, leather-wearing, motor-cycle riding bad boys. They are hard, and built, sexy, and sinful. Men who have lived hard lives and wear the proof on their bodies, in their walks and talks, and in the set of their eyes. The men of the Raven Riders series do not disappoint, and the main character of Ride Hard, Dare Kenyon, is as sexy as they come in all of his bad-assed glory.  He’s the president of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club, and for good reason.

Haven Randall is escaping an abusive father with the help of her best friend. She’s as cliché-ly sweet and innocent as they come, but some how manages to be likable. Violence brings her to The Raven Riders for protection, and these bad boys make it their mission to keep her safe. It’s not a new mission for them, but it becomes personal when Haven and her best friend Cora work their ways into the heart and soul of the club… and Dare finds himself unable to resist letting Haven into his own heart.

Teaser Tuesday: Ride Hard, The Siren, & Hour of the Lion

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books And A Beat.

"Haven came down to breakfast late to find at least twenty people already digging in. She'd been so nervous to walk into a big group of mostly strangers that she'd delayed in her room forever, fussing over her clothes and her new hair, which she loved even more in the light of day. But she was done with letting her fear keep her from doing things, trying things, living life to the fullest."

"We assumed you were dead because--"

"Because when you looked at my photograph, you didn't see my soul?" she interrupted.

I swallowed hard. "Yes."

She leaned forward over her desk and rested her chin on her hands. She carefully studied our faces. "That's because I don't have a soul."

~The Siren, by Elicia Hyder

Her fingers clenched in his hair—probably painfully—to pull him closer, and she couldn't seem to release her hold. His scent wrapped around her, a sunlit forest, pine trees. Male. Very male. Her hips rose, running against him as she ached with emptiness. "Alec— please—"

Guest Post & Giveaway with Laura Kaye!

Please welcome back to the Nest, author Laura Kaye!

(My review of the first book in the Vampire Warrior Kings series can be found here and my review of book 2 is directly below this post, here.)

Top Ten Reasons to Fall in Love with Nikolai Vasilyev

Today I’m very excited to be at Reading Lark after Dark to celebrate the release of my dark vampire romance, Seduced by the Vampire King. This book is the second in my Vampire Warrior Kings series from Harlequin Nocturne—definitively not your mother’s Harlequin! *grins* (The first book, In the Service of the King, released in February.) And, since I adore heroes, I thought I’d share the top ten reasons I think you just might fall in love with mine:

Book Review: Seduced By The Vampire King

Book 2 of the Vampire Warrior Kings series

Published By:  Harlequin  (6/1/2012)

Buy it at B&N.com or Amazon OR WIN IT HERE!
Source: Provided by the Awesomest Author Ever.
Audience: 18+ Paranormal Romance

My Thoughts:
NGH. That was my first, anticipatory thought. (For those of you wondering what in the blue perfect hell that means/stands for, it's basically a noise of feminine approval and lust.) Anything Laura Kaye writes is hot and I totally fell in love with her vampires in In The Service of the King. Her men are men without being man children. (And that, kittens, is why it's fiction!)

Guest Post & Giveaway with Laura Kaye

Please welcome back to the Nest, the splendiferious Laura Kaye! It's no secret that she's one of my favorite authors, and I hope this whets everyone's appetite for West of Want.  I, for one, need it because I'm feverishly stalking my Barnes & Noble order....

Happy WEST OF WANT Preview & Prizes Event, everyone! Today, April 10, was the original release date for Book 2 in my Hearts of the Anemoi series, West of Want. And then some really cool things happened: my publisher, Entangled Publishing, signed a huge deal with the nation’s biggest book distributor, which means for the first time ever, my books will be shelved in brick-and-mortar bookstores. And then, West of Want received a very nice pre-sales estimate by the booksellers and Barnes and Nobles bought it for all their stores nationwide (and it got bought for airports, too—squee!). The only bad news in this whole scenario was this: the release date got pushed back, by three LONG months! (No, seriously! Why do they want to hurt us? ~ M) LOL So, I thought I’d celebrate the original release date with a preview of the book and a big contest, and give you a small taste to whet your appetite until the actual release date arrives.

Book Review: In The Service Of The King

In The Service Of The King

My Thoughts:
When I could form coherent thought again, I was once again wow'ed by Laura Kaye's skill and craftsmanship (crafstwomanship?) of story-telling. These shorter, novella type stories would have to be harder to write than a full length novel, I assume - You have to pack a small yet mighty punch, and In The Service Of The King definitely brings it!

Author Interview & Giveaway with Laura Kaye

One of my favorite authors, Laura Kaye, stops by the Nest! She was also my guinea pig as I've never interviewed an author before, particularly one of my favorites, which was a little intimidating. So I channeled my inner James Lipton, and asked her a few questions.
(Just picture me pensively stroking a fake beard and trying to look serious;)
Please leave a comment on this post to enter to win an E-copy of Laura's latest, In The Service of The King, Book 1 in the Vampire Warrior Kings Series.
(Don't forget to read my review of it here)

Book Review: North of Need

North Of Need

Book 1 of the Hearts of the Anemoi series

Published By: Entangled Publishing, LLC (11/1/2011)

Buy it at B&N.com or IndieBound

Source: Owned by Reviewer

Audience: 18+ Paranormal Romance

My Thoughts:
Alright, my one sided love affair with Laura Kaye's leading men is well known, as is my serious case of hero worship with the author herself. She's warm, funny, and incredibly smart; and she hasn't served me with papers regarding my stalkerish tendencies.

My Book Boyfriend: Caden Grayson

We decided that Thursday needed a little pizazz and stumbled on this meme. So we took ourselves over to The Unread Reader to see what it was all about and join the fun. The Unread Reader features this meme on Wednesdays, but we figured moving our participation to Thursday wouldn't hurt anything. We'd love it if you'd leave a comment if you participate in this so we can check out your book boyfriends as well.

My Book Boyfriend is.....
Caden Grayson
Hearts in Darkness
by  Laura Kaye
My ideal Caden is Wentworth Miller.

*dreamy sigh* Caden, Caden, Caden....I've been waiting for my next turn at MBB just for you.
