If I were to write this review in only three words, it would be this: Read. It. Now! In Ride Hard, Laura Kaye brings to life the sexy world of the inked up, leather-wearing, motor-cycle riding bad boys. They are hard, and built, sexy, and sinful. Men who have lived hard lives and wear the proof on their bodies, in their walks and talks, and in the set of their eyes. The men of the Raven Riders series do not disappoint, and the main character of Ride Hard, Dare Kenyon, is as sexy as they come in all of his bad-assed glory.  He’s the president of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club, and for good reason.

Haven Randall is escaping an abusive father with the help of her best friend. She’s as cliché-ly sweet and innocent as they come, but some how manages to be likable. Violence brings her to The Raven Riders for protection, and these bad boys make it their mission to keep her safe. It’s not a new mission for them, but it becomes personal when Haven and her best friend Cora work their ways into the heart and soul of the club… and Dare finds himself unable to resist letting Haven into his own heart.

Book Review: Reckoning

Reckoning (Night Huntress Series #0.5)

Release Date: November 29th, 2011
Source: Kindle Edition owned by Reviewer
Audience: 18+

THE RUNDOWN:  In New Orleans, a pair of undead serial killers is about to turn Mardi Gras into a horror show - unless the immortal hitman Bones can hunt them down first.

WHAT WENT DOWN: A prequel to an already established series, The Reckoning proved to be just as interesting, engaging, and filled with super cool danger as its companion books in the series.

Protagonist Bones once again wows us with his British charm, good looks, and all-around badassness. A vampire hitman for hire, it appears he has no qualms about killing and asking questions later, but that is not the case. His strategies are always well thought out and he definitely cares about the people who help him along the way. His mercy makes him both admirable and tragic and the combination makes him all the more alluring.

Book Review: Good Book

Good Book: The Bizarre, Hilarious, Disturbing, Marvellous, and Inspiring Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible

Author: David Plotz

Publication Date: March 3rd 2009

Audience: Anyone with an interest but not for those who are devoutly and religiously lacking a sense of humour

Synopsis

Like many Jews and Christians, David Plotz long assumed he knew what was in the Bible. He read parts of it as a child in Hebrew school, then at-tended a Christian high school where he studied the Old and New Testaments. Many of the highlights stuck with him--Adam and Eve, Cain versus Abel, Jacob versus Esau, Jonah versus whale, forty days and nights, ten plagues and commandments, twelve tribes and apostles, Red Sea walked under, Galilee walked on, bush into fire, rock into water, water into wine. And, of course, he absorbed from all around him other bits of the Bible--from stories he heard in churches and synagogues, in movies and on television, from his parents and teachers. But it wasn't until he picked up a Bible at a cousin's bat mitzvah--and became engrossed and horrified by a lesser-known story in Genesis--that he couldn't put it down.
