The Good:

* Hot guy on the cover - yes, I'm shallow....

* Perfect wintery setting 

* This novella is the perfect sort of read for those cold winter nights. If it doesn't warm your heart and curl your toes - something is wrong.

* I love the Jack Frost lore created by Wendy Sparrow. It's an interesting take on an old tale. It also reminds me a bit of the Hades and Persephone myth. The descriptions of the winter world were vivid and gorgeous; scenes in that world were my favorite parts of the novella.

Historical Romance

The Good:

* Again, Entangled always lures me in with their covers. Eye candy is my downfall every time.

* Scotland + 1500's + hot men in kilts = MORE PLEASE

* Heather McCollum does a nice job of blending romance, history, and magic. I found myself caught up in this story and was upset when it ended all too soon. I also immediately put Heather's other work on my TBR list as soon as I finished this novella.

Contemporary Romance

The Good:

* The cover! Come on, you know you want to stare at it all day.

* The characters in this one are fabulous. In a novella, an author has to do a good job of introducing the characters and getting you to love them right away. They don't have the luxury of the pages that come with a full novel. Covington certainly does a brilliant job of creating memorable and likable characters with lots of chemistry. I was particularly fond of Nick - hot, British, and romantic - sign me up.

The Good:

DX was a juicy little tidbit that was full of the things I love in a good read: paranormal beings, suspense, a kick ass heroine, and hot boys. I wasn't expecting much considering I got this for free on Amazon the other day, but I was pleasantly surprised. Carolyn Jewel is a solid writer who has created some interesting characters that I would love to spend more time with - Jaden in particular. 

The female protagonist, Helen, is referred to throughout the piece by her nickname, Hell. How can you not want to read about a woman named Hell? I'm thinking about naming my first born daughter Helen now. How cool would it be to have Hell as your name?
