The Characters:
Gideon is enigmatic, knowledgeable, and direct. He's a Body demon and medic, and one of the most Ancient of all living demons. He is a source of frustration for many and none more so than Legna. He caught my attention immediately, and I can quoted as saying I was sticking with the series for Gideon, Elijah and Noah. And it was so worth it!

Magdelena is the beautiful, beloved youngest sister of Noah, the Demon King, and a powerful Mind demon in her own right. The empathic demoness has been restless since her near catastrophic Summoning during Jacob and Isabella's wedding. At odds with her life and unsure of her place in the world, she allows Gideon to scan her... And what he finds changes both their lives.

The Plot:
When everything around them is uncertain and hazy - the danger of the battle between the Demons and the vile necromancers, as well as betrayal deeper than they can imagine - The one thing Gideon and Magdelena can be sure of is the unbridled passion they have for each other, started a decade before on moon lusty night. Gideon must learn to trust and have faith in Legna's love and Legna must overcome buried memories and her own fear of losing herself and her independence to become more truly herself.

My Thoughts:
Now I wasn't a huge fan of the first book, as I said here. But as I thought, the series gets better with each consecutive book. Once again, Miz Frank pulls out a admirable heroine, and for the first time, a yummy and interesting hero. (I want to state again that this may only be a reflection on my personal taste) The second book sets the stage for what promises to be an involved, on-going battle for survival as the necromancers get a helping hand from an unexpected source, and in a move I just love, the author doesn't give you all the baddies up front - they are layers, people! I'm invested in this series and currently on book 4 and it is hands down a KEEP READING because each book is better than the last. Though I hold no hopes out for liking Noah's mate, because I covet him for my very own. (Noah is book 5. Don't you want to see if I'm right??)

Synopsis:
They're called the Nightwalkers - proud, ancient beings who live in the shadows, existing just beyond the human world. But there are also dangerous humans who hunt them - necromancers who use the blackest magic to manipulate them. And for a Demon named Gideon, the battle against these evil forces will soon be all too personal...For a thousand years, Gideon has healed his people. And as the oldest surviving male of his race, his wisdom has always been respected without question. But Gideon knows that even he is vulnerable to the powerful, primitive desires that befall his kind during Hallowed moons - and nine years ago that truth was hammered home when he found himself claiming Magdalegna, the Demon King's sister, in a wild embrace. Horrified by his lack of control, he left her wanting and furious - and then exiled himself for the better part of a decade. Now, with necromancers threatening his people - and Magdalegna nearly their victim - Gideon must face another truth. He and the beautiful, stubborn Magdalegna are destined to be together, to share a love as deep and old as time itself. But first he needs to regain her trust. Then he'll have to save her life...

  1. Just today, I was wondering if you continued on with the series. Good review. Can hardly wait for Elijah's review, my personal favorite.
