On The Story & Writing:

This is my first experience with the husband and wife writing team of Ilona Andrews. I have heard great things about their Kate Daniels series which I plan on reading soon, but I stumbled upon this series in audio at the library one day while I was browsing the stacks and decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the writing flows well in spite of this being a writing partnership. There are no awkward moments where the two styles do not flow. Its all quite seamless.

Teaser Tuesday: Sweet Temptations & On the Edge

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly feature, hosted by

“I won’t hurt you.” His voice came out in a whisper.
Rita stopped breathing as the chills went up her arm. The sensation unexpected, not from fear but from a slight thrill, she paused then nodded acknowledging him.

Very few people in the Broken knew of the Edge or the Weird, and it was safer for everyone involved to keep it that way. Experience had taught her that trying to explain the existence of magic to a person in the Broken would do no good.
