Feature & Follow/Book Blogger Hop

Friday Feature & Follow is a blog hop that was started by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  Each week a different question is posted by our hosts and we will answer!  This is a great opportunity for bloggers to network and interact. To participate, follow both of our hosts, as well as the two featured blogs, and make a post on your blog! Add your blog to the linky on one of the host blogs, and spend some time networking with the other participants.

This week’s question – What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?
I'm a book hoarder. I have a very hard time parting with my books, especially those that I love. If it's a book that I especially love, it goes on the book shelf beside my bed where my autographed copies and favorites are. The rest go on the bookshelf in the hallway. If I've read it on my Nook, it will get organized in my files according to genre. If I especially loved it, I will have to purchase a paper copy for my bedside bookshelf. Eventually books that I'm not particularly attached to will get donated to a local organization that does a fundraising book sale annually.

Topic of this weeks hop: How do you organize your books to be read?
Books that have been sent to me by authors and publishers for review go on a special shelf of my bedside bookshelf, either in the order I received them or in order of when my review is done. If it's an ebook, it goes on the home screen of my Nook until I've read it.

  1. I think a lot of folks are indicating visual arrangement of books. I like that idea. I sort of do that in one of my weekly posts, but I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep my books in the order I need to read them.

Stop by for my full, organized answer if you like. :)

  2. I totally understand. I'm looking at my closest and I get it. It's like if you are truly truly a book lover you have far too many books to truly organize. Except I organize the books on my goodreads shelf.

  4. Hello. I cyber-stumbled here via the blog hop. Great site! look forward to your posts. My books have been mostly eBooks lately because I've ran out of shelf room! But I like to donate to the library and schools. As far as organization goes - there is none! haha I wish I had room to display some of my favorite reads, but right now I don't. So they're on a shelving unit in by closet. And so that I can fit ALL of them on it, they are shelved any way possible to make them "fit"
