My Thoughts:
I keep saying the sex scenes bored me and they still do. (Same complaint as all the others in this series). Incredibly so. I think the sex aspect, though it is a very tight component of Gideon and Eva, is well over done. I was happy when the author started eluding to passionate moments between the characters. I was also happy that the constant arguing seemed to slow and they had begun to gain a greater maturity in handling situations, as well as just functioning better.
I love Cary through this series and how Eva and he just love and rely on one another. Their bickering and just steadfast support is something that is guaranteed throughout, and though it becomes less prominent in this book, it is still very much there. There are resolutions and more mysteries brought forward, and for that I'm thankful. It gives me something to sink my teeth into besides Eva's shoulder. It is not the most exciting series I have read, but I am now invested, as a reader, into Eva and Gideon's life, so I will continue to read. I can only hope in the next book Eva and Gideon have gained even more trust and security into one another and that their journey deepens.
The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts, and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires…
From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.
No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.
Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…
