I am a huge fan of Kristie Cook's Soul Savers series, and I got to ask one of my favorite guys one of the tough questions: What would be the ultimate betrayal?
(Since how asking how he feels about dorky brunette book nerds could have gotten awkward. ;)
Owen: *scrubs hand through hair
as he thinks* This is a hard one. I don’t exactly sit around thinking about how
to betray people. I mean, I know how it is when someone betrays the Amadis and
I take that personally, but the ultimate
betrayal? I guess that would have to be by someone in power, someone who I
trust to have the most devotion to the Amadis, or to me personally, turning out
to be a fraud. Yeah. If Rina or Sophia or Alexis – or any of the council
members, for that matter – were nothing but a poseur. That would be a huge betrayal. Oh, but wait. Even worse
is if they were not only pretending their loyalty to the Amadis but were
actually spies for the Daemoni. Working for our ultimate enemy while faking
their place with the Amadis – there you go. That would be the ultimate
betrayal. If this traitor, whoever he or she is, is part of the council, not
even Tristan will be able to hold me back. I don’t know how I’d handle such a
betrayal, but it won’t be good. Not for them. I can guarantee Rina that the
perp will go down. I don’t care who they are.

Devotion, the latest book in the Soul Savers series.
Book Summary:
With powerful abilities gained from the Ang’dora and Tristan
back by her side, Alexis thinks she’s ready for the next challenge— protecting
her son from what appears to be the inevitable. But she has so much to learn
about her powers, her new world and the people in it. Nothing is what it seems
to be on the surface, including the Amadis.
Power-hungry
politicians comprise the council and make impossible demands. A traitor lurks
among them all, inciting trouble that could destroy the Amadis and, ultimately,
humanity. The Daemoni wreak havoc in the human world, with the ultimatum that
they’ll continue attacking

ReplyDeleteI hope you get a chance to read it! Thank you!
DeleteMy biggest betrayal...hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteI guess my biggest betrayal would be when Coke introduced New Coke and stopped making regular Coke for a while. New Coke was nasty. LOL
That's about all I could think of right now.

Haha! I guess you can't complain too much if that's your biggest betrayal.
DeleteA co-worker revealed confidential information to another co-worker.

@ Tore, you got it!
ReplyDeleteLisa - How about Coke Zero? I'm confused and a little appalled by it, but then again, I'm an odd bird.
@Robin, that co-worker is a douche canoe
Thank you, Michelle, for being a part of the tour!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone!
Sigh - Owen has gone through a lot.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest betrayal? There are a couple of instances I can think of that hurt me horribly at the time but I'm better/stronger/smarter because of it now. I'd rather think those people who did the betraying did me more of a favor than anything else.: :)

When the people you count on let you down...it's really like a betrayal. Your trust is just shattered. I don't want to share, but know that it has happened.

The ultimate betrayal...when someone you love does something so unspeakable, you can only move on without him/her...no repairing the damage to your trust. :(
